Getting Started
1.1. What is JW Tabs?
JW Tabs is a website where you can enjoy playing simple guitar tabs and fingerstyle arrangements for JW songs from jw.org. We provide easy-to-follow guitar tablature for Kingdom Songs, Original Songs, and Children's Songs.
1.2. How do I use JW Tabs?
Simply browse the song categories, select a song, and view the guitar tabs. You can switch between text-based tabs and interactive tabs (where available). Use the playback controls to hear the melody while you practice.
1.3. Do I need an account?
No account is required to browse and play guitar tabs. Free accounts do not unlock additional features. However, you're gonna need to create an account in order to subscribe to Premium or Deluxe. Premium subscribers can save favorites, browsing history, create up to 5 playlists, and use auto-scroll. Deluxe subscribers get all Premium features plus unlimited playlists with cross-device sync, custom themes, and more.
1.4. Do you offer a free trial?
Yes! All new users get a 3-day Premium trial automatically on signup. No credit card required. After the trial, you can subscribe or continue with the Free tier.
Guitar Tabs
2.1. How do I read guitar tabs?
Guitar tablature (tabs) uses 6 horizontal lines representing guitar strings. Numbers on each line indicate which fret to press. The bottom line is the low E string. Special notations include: h (hammer-on), p (pull-off), / (slide up), \\ (slide down), ~ (let ring), (n) (ghost note), <n> (harmonic), x (muted).
2.2. What are interactive tabs?
Interactive tabs are available to everyone and render guitar tabs as playable sheet music. Features include: hearing the melody played back, adjusting playback speed (0.25x to 2x), following along with a moving cursor, looping specific sections, and seeing bar numbers. Songs with this feature show interactive tabs by default - you can switch to 'Text-based Tabs' if preferred.
2.3. What does "Capo" mean?
A capo is a clamp placed on the guitar neck to raise the pitch. When a song shows "Capo: 3", place your capo on the 3rd fret and play the chords as shown. This makes it easier to match the original key.
2.4. Do you have fingerstyle arrangements?
Yes! We have fingerstyle arrangements for 51 Kingdom Songs. These are more advanced arrangements that include melody, harmony, and bass lines - all in one beautiful piece.
Subscriptions
3.1. What happens when my trial ends?
You return to the Free tier. Your favorites and playlists created during the trial are saved locally on your device and remain accessible. When you subscribe, all your saved data becomes fully functional again - you won't lose anything!
3.2. How do subscriptions work?
Subscribe to Premium or Deluxe for monthly/yearly access. Recurring billing keeps your access active automatically. Cancel anytime from your account page.
3.3. How do donations work?
Donations grant temporary access based on amount. The access tier and duration depend on your donation amount. Great for trying features without recurring billing!
3.4. Can I cancel anytime?
Yes! Cancel anytime from your account page. Access continues until period end. All sales are final - no refunds.
3.5. What happens when my donation expires?
Return to Free tier. You'll receive a reminder email 7 days before expiration. Make another donation or subscribe to continue access. Your data remains accessible in read-only mode.
3.6. Will I get reminder emails before my subscription expires?
For donation-based subscriptions: YES, you'll receive a reminder 7 days before expiration. For recurring subscriptions: NO, your subscription renews automatically so no reminder needed.
3.7. Can I upgrade or downgrade?
Yes! Change plans anytime. Billing is prorated automatically.
3.8. How do I manage my subscription?
Visit your account page to view subscription details, cancel, or change plans. For billing questions, contact LemonSqueezy support through your customer portal.
3.9. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and payment methods supported by LemonSqueezy. All payments are processed securely.
3.10. Is my payment information secure?
Yes! All payment processing is handled by LemonSqueezy, a PCI DSS compliant payment provider. We never see or store your credit card information.
Features by Tier
4.1. What's included in each plan?
Free: View all tabs, interactive rendering, basic settings. Premium: Unlimited favorites, browsing history, up to 5 playlists, auto-scroll, AI support chat. Deluxe: All Premium features + unlimited playlists with sync, custom themes, cross-device sync, early access. Note: Fingerstyle tabs access depends on current tier settings.
4.2. What can I do with a free account?
Free users can browse all guitar tabs, use the interactive tab player, customize basic display settings, and save preferences locally.
4.3. What does Premium include?
Premium includes: unlimited favorites, full browsing history, up to 5 playlists (stored locally), auto-scroll for text-based tabs, favorites carousel on homepage, and AI-powered support chat.
4.4. What does Deluxe include?
Deluxe includes everything in Premium plus: unlimited playlists with cross-device sync, custom theme colors (12 presets + custom picker), full cross-device sync for all settings, and early access to new features.
Playlists & Favorites
5.1. How do favorites work?
Click the heart icon on any song to add it to your favorites. Free users cannot save favorites. Premium and Deluxe subscribers get unlimited favorites. Deluxe subscribers also get cross-device sync for favorites.
5.2. How do playlists work?
Create playlists to organize songs for practice or worship. Premium allows up to 5 playlists. Deluxe offers unlimited playlists with cloud sync.
5.3. What happens to my data if I downgrade?
Your favorites and playlists are preserved but become read-only. You can view and access them, but cannot add new items until you resubscribe.
Technical Issues
6.1. Which browsers are supported?
JW Tabs works best on modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. The interactive tab player requires Web Audio API support. For best experience, keep your browser updated.
6.2. Why is the interactive tab not loading?
Try refreshing the page. Ensure your browser supports Web Audio API. Check your internet connection. If issues persist, switch to text-based tabs using the toggle button. Still having problems? and we'll look into it.
6.3. Does JW Tabs work on mobile?
Yes! JW Tabs is fully responsive and works on phones and tablets. The interactive tab player may perform better on larger screens.
App & Offline
7.1. What is the JW Tabs app?
JW Tabs can be installed as an app on your device. This gives you faster loading, offline access to songs you've viewed, home screen access like a native app, and push notifications for comment replies.
7.2. How do I install the app?
Look for the "Install App" button in the sidebar menu or the browser's install prompt. On mobile, you can also use "Add to Home Screen" from your browser menu. The app works on phones, tablets, and desktop computers.
7.3. What works offline?
Songs you've previously viewed are cached and available offline. This includes both text-based tabs and interactive tabs. Your favorites and playlists are also accessible offline. New songs require an internet connection.
7.4. How do push notifications work?
When you install the app, you can opt-in to receive notifications when someone replies to your comments or when your comments are approved. You can manage notification preferences in your profile settings.

8.1. Who created JW Tabs?
JW Tabs was created by a fellow Jehovah's Witness who loves playing guitar and wanted to share simple arrangements of our beautiful songs with others.
8.2. Can I contribute guitar tabs?
Yes! Use the "Help Improve" feature on any song page to submit corrections or new arrangements. Quality submissions from verified contributors may be featured.
8.3. How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Use the "Help Improve" feature in the settings menu to submit bug reports or feature suggestions. We review all submissions.
8.4. Will guitar tabs on zeddrix.com be deleted?
Yes, the "JW Guitar Tabs" category on zeddrix.com will be discontinued after migration to JW Tabs is complete. Following a transition period, zeddrix.com will become a portfolio website with a link to JW Tabs for guitar tab content.
